Gog galaxy scanning installed files11/28/2023 In the 'Owned Games' tab I clicked the game. Presumably you have a virus scanner? Would it be possible for you to try starting up the game with the scanner turned off, to see if that makes a difference? Obviously that isn't a solution in itself, but if that does help it would point to the cause of the problem (and subsequent solution). 1 2 This is my favourite topic tomaspsik New User tomaspsik Registered: Jul 2019 From Czech Republic Posted MaGood Day to you all, with GOG 2.0 I managed to import existing game installations quite easily. This may in turn be the result of for example a virus scanner getting antsy and blocking access to files for long enough that PoE times out and moves to the next file (PoE creates and removes a bunch of temporary files in quick succession when scanning the save games, which might arouse a scanner's suspicion). I've never been able to confirm it, but, when I look into this issue in an earlier thread I got the distinct impression that it is somehow caused by read errors when trying to access the save game files. I have my 60+ hour save now to 85 hours without an issue on multiple machines. Though its probably unnecessary before i exit i save then i load my save and resave the same save everytime before i exit the game now. That should work and create new files in LocalLow and Local\Temp Without exiting the game reload that new save. If you dont configure the client to install games in the same folder where your pre galaxy game is already installed when you import it you will have a copy. Run the game as admin and load the most recent save If you have any saves in C:\Users\username\Documents\My Games\Pillars of EternityĬopy them to C:\Users\username\Saved Games\Pillars of Eternity Then delete the folder C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Temp\Obsidian Entertainment This has been tested and working on 3 different machines with 5 different save files myself and have had 2 other friends fix their savegames with this method.įirst delete the folder C:\Users\username\AppData\LocalLow\Obsidian Entertainment Only after downloading and installing it did I realize I already had another copy of it installed from the pre-galaxy days. I think I'll need to see if I can find out from somewhere what caused this incase it ever happens again or how to avoid it, first time I've had anything like this happen.I have found a working savegame fix the will load savegames and create new working non corrupt savegames 1 How do I get GOG Galaxy to recognize an already existing copy of the game So, I decided to install Witcher 3 through GOG galaxy after taking a break from it for a while. I really don't understand what happened or why but the main thing is it's working. The quick scan option will check for games installed through recognised game stores such as Steam, GOG Galaxy, Epic Games Launcher and more. So I then tried to see if it was possible to install Tyranny & it worked exactly how it has in the past no problems at all. sh installer, open your default terminal emulator, and run the following commands (don\'t forget to adapt the first command depending on the game and its location. Opened the client today first thing I noticed was The Wicther 3 had the green 'PLAY' button back again which was greyed out before. Creating a GOG system report If you have installed the game using our. ![]() It did say something about files I don't remember - 'aquiring files' maybe? But not actually downloading or installing anything. issue1: Make sure you have your GOG account connected and authenticated in settings and also try repairing your games installations in the client, as seen here Suggestion 1: I'm not sure what you mean here, if it's separate in grid view it's in the 8.0 version roadmap. When selecting the other drive (as I have before with out issue) I clicked ok & nothing happened. Well maybe that's it then my SSD is pretty full with about 7GB spare. This is a Windows native function and you would need to do a symlink for the Temp folder on another drive to circumvent it. Unless your SSD is so full it cannot hold the temporary installer files. Changin the drive letter manually should just start the install process. ![]() ![]() I never saw any GOG installer do what you describe, ever (and I have been using GOG longer than I do Steam), this is why I am surprised. Talgaby původně napsal:Is the installer itself intact? There is a checkbox at the start of the process that lets it do a self-check.
